Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and check-in + bike tour in the West Møn area. Ca. 33 km

We suggest you arrive before noon so you have time to make the most of the day on Møn.

After check-in to your hotel it's time to head out on your first bike tour, which will take you south of Stege Nor, through small villages overlooking the Nor.

Stop for a visit at the old typical Møn farm house built in 1800 and today a museum showcasing the original furniture that belonged to the last owner who lived here and ran his farm in the 1930ies. Enjoy your lunch from a beautiful spot in the lovely farm house garden.

Next stop is at Møn Is where a homemade ice-cream is waiting for you. Follow the route to Hovblege with its natural beauty and stunning views to the surrounding rolling hills and nearby open sea.

Your route continues south and along the Baltic Sea before heading back towords Stege through the quiet Møn landscape.

Day 2: Daytrip to Møn's White Cliffs. Ca. 44 km

After a nice breakfast, you grab your lunch packet, and start cycling towards Møn's white cliffs.

Stop for a visit at the Geocenter and take the steps down to the beach where you can get the full view of the white cliffs rising from the sea. Perhaps you will spot some seals nearby.

Continue this day's stage through Klinteskoven forest and past Jydelejet with its grassland where you can be lucky to see wild orchids and butterflies. Stop at Liselund park with its neoclassical palace in peaceful settings. Cycle past a stone age tomb and enjoy heathland and old oak trees.

Back in Stege it's time to enjoy a lovely dinner at one of the local restaurants.

Day 3: Island of Nyord. Ca. 30 km

After breakfast it is time to pack your cyclebag and lunch and head out to explore the flat lands and the peninsula of Ulvshale formed of flint from Møn's white cliffs. Stop to climb the bird tower to enjoy the view of the rich local bird life. You might also be tempted to take a dip in the sea from the family friendly white sandy beach Ulvshale Strand.

Cross the bridge to the island of car-free island of Nyord. In the small charming village of Nyord time seems to stand still, life takes place in another pace. From one of the street booths outside family homes you can buy locally produced marmalade or snaps, so remember to bring some cash on today's tour.

Take a break and enjoy your lunch on the Camøno bench at Nyord harbour before heading back to Stege along the coastline and past curious grazing cows.

After a more relazed day of cycling you might want to treat yourself with a lovely 3-course dinner at one of the local restaurants in Stege.

Day 4: West Møn. Ca. 27 km

After breakfast you cycle out to explore West Møn. From Stege you cycle over the bridge and into the area of the old sugar factory. Cycle along the coast where you have a fantastic view of Stege harbour with Stege church in the background.

At one point you will turn away from the sea and pass King Asger's Hill. From the top of the hill you can enjoy a fantastic 380 degree view of the area. You can also enter the burial mound, which is one of the largest burial mounds on the island of Møn and is regarded as one of the finest in Denmark.

Further on you come to the small town of Damsholte with the spectacular Damsholte church built in 1743. We recommend you take time ta visit inside this Denmark's only village church in rococo style. There is a very special story connected to the building of this church which you can read about in your tour material.

As you head back towards Stege you will get to cycle through local farmland and small quaint villages.

After four fantastic days of exploring West Møn and island of Nyord, it's time to continue your journey or head home.
