Day 2: Explore the South Fyn area or nearby islands - 22 km /27,6 km / 44 km
Today you have multiple choice of various bike routes in the nearby area of South Fyn and nearby islands. Your roadbook will inspire you to choose the route that suits you both with regard to your interests and daily distance.
Examples of a bike tour for the day:
Explore the island of Thurø and Taasinge - 22 km
Cycle accross the bridge to the small island of Thurø. Enjoy the peace and quiet atmosphere, only enterrupted by birds singing as you cycle through the woods to the small idyllic village of Troense. You will be amazed by the many beautiful well-preserved half-timbered houses from the village’s heyday in the 18th century, when most of the male population were sailors or ship builders.
Follow the route down the old tree alley to Valdemar Castle. Here you can stop for a coffee and visit the manor house museum. Enjoy the beautiful views to the sea from the beach or tea pavilion.
Jump on the vintage ship "Helge" to the island of Thurø.
Cycle along the quiet road, passing pastures and farm houses. Take a detour to one of the very popular child friendly sandy beaches in the area. Have a swim and an ice cream before continuing your bike ride along the sea back to Svendborg.
Explore the island of Taasinge - 27,6 km
Cycle to the southern part of Taasinge. Cycle through open farm land and visit a farmer's shop selling local organic produce. On your way you will pass the special stone house Lille Vejlegården, which was once the home of local progressive farmer Søren Lolk, and now one of the most photographed houses in the South Fyn area.
On the southern point of Taasinge you will pass a large meadow rich in birdlife. From the bird tower, you can spot geese, ducks and waders nesting in the area.
Take a break in Lundby, and if you haven't yet tasted the famous Danish hotdog, you might want to stop at Steff's Place, the local hotdog van before heading back to your hotel.
Explore the island of Langeland - ca. 44 km/65 km
Cycle across the islands of Taasinge and Siø to the town of Rudkøbing, the main town on island of Langeland.
Exlore the small coble stone streets with charming town houses, shops, art galleries and cafes.
Visit the local harbour, where you can keep an eye on the lively traffic of commercial ships, shoals, yachts and the small island ferry to Strynø.
If you are up for a longer bike ride you can follow the roundtrip route from Rudkøbing into the countryside across Langeland, past the impressive Faarevejle manor house, to the small fishing town of Spodsbjerg with its popular childfriendly beach, marina and ferry harbour. You might be lucky to spot a seal in the harbour.

The charming town of Kerteminde used to be Funen’s most important harbour town and today the fishing harbour still plays an important role in the town’s life.
The statue of the fisher girl ‘Amanda’ located at Langebro is the town’s landmark. In the narrow streets there are several protected strokes, and a building from 17th century houses the town museum. Fiskergade is an example of a street with picturesque facades full of fantasy.
